Scuba Diving Accessories
The life of a scuba diver is dependent on how well his equipment is working. If you intend to engage in the wonderful sport of scuba diving, you should be acquainted with the gear that you will be using.
Whenever you go to a dive shop or location, you're required to provide a gear checklist. The gear checklist is used to make sure you have everything you need for a dive. The most basic diving accessories you need include your diving mask, a diving regulator, a buoyancy compensator device (BCD), an alternate buoyancy compensator vent valve, shoulder straps to release the BCD in case of emergency, a depth gauge, a pressure gauge, swim fins, wetsuit, air tank, an alternate air source, weight belt and a dive watch. You might also want to include a dive knife, a dive light and an underwater camera as part of your gear.
Another important accessory to add to your scuba diving set is a dive kit. The dive kit would usually include a first aid kit as well as other items needed to repair your gear. Your first aid kit may also include some sea sickness medication. You may also have some anti-fog for your diving mask as well as spare straps for your fins and masks. Also bring extra batteries for your flashlight and any other accessory that needs them.
Do check your gear often and to add new items to your gear checklist as you acquire them. Remember, your life underwater is dependent on how well your gear works.
